Winter clothes

It’s that time of year when I need to at least find my winter clothes and get them out of storage and into my closet so they’re handy. I’m not exactly an aesthete when it comes to winter clothes:

My winter clothes consist of:

1 brown microfiber insulated coat
2 pairs leather gloves, on of which will be in my truck
2 scarves
1 knit cap, red and grey, which I bought at 7-11. Seriously. It was cold out.

I’m wondering how many times this year I’ll have occasion to wear them. Ten? Fifteen?

Bridle path

In reading this sad story about the suicide of the guy from the TV show Growing Pains, the FoxNews.com story says “…was discovered by a search team on ‘bridal path’ in Stanley Park”

It’s bridle path, not “bridal path”. It’s a horse trail, more or less. I’m a city boy and I know that.

OK – all the predictable outrage about AIG and this one hundred and fifty-plus million dollars going towards executive bonuses. Isn’t this the sort of thing we should have figured out…before we gave them the money?

If this isn’t evidence that TARP was just some hastily thrown together crap that nobody really understood, I don’t know what is.

Superbowl XLII from setup to loadout

American Airlines Center – Dallas – Dancing with the Stars to bull riding to basketball to a concert

The Sapporo Dome – Sapporo, Japan – from baseball to soccer. The pitcher’s mound is lowered into the ground and the soccer field is brought in on a cushion of air.
