Nice – from Byron York in National Review. In the next debate, whenever Obama says something like “John is right”, you take a drink.

From last nights debate, it would have been:

“I think Senator McCain’s absolutely right that we need more responsibility…”

“Senator McCain is absolutely right that the earmarks process has been abused…”

“He’s also right that oftentimes lobbyists and special interests are the ones that are introducing these…requests…”

“John mentioned the fact that business taxes on paper are high in this country, and he’s absolutely right…”

“John is right we have to make cuts…”

“Senator McCain is absolutely right that the violence has been reduced as a consequence of the extraordinary sacrifice of our troops and our military families…”

“John — you’re absolutely right that presidents have to be prudent in what they say…”

“Senator McCain is absolutely right, we cannot tolerate a nuclear Iran…”

You might want to have a designated driver handy.

- Bill Clinton on Good Morning America this morning.

Pow.

Again, same show:

“[Democrats have been] resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac”

- Bill Clinton

Zang!

I think was this:

I’m not running for president because I think I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save our country in its hour of need. My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God.

Sometimes, I’m not even sure if Obama is trying to be that “blessed with personal greatness” guy but that is definitely how he comes across most of the time. I think that if the media weren’t constantly kissing his ass, he would look more regular and human, in a good way.
