			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I think that <a href="http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm">this is a pretty good summation of most of the &#8220;third party&#8221; (not Democrat or Republican) parties in the United States from politics1.com</a>.  Everything from the reasonable to the very nutty.<br />
Thoughts:</p>
<ul>
<li>I can imagine the U.S. Marijuana Party&#8217;s convention must be interesting.</li>
<li>The Libertarian Party likes to say that they are the 3rd biggest party, but I&#8217;m not sure they can back it up.</li>
<li>Why does anybody &#8211; <em>anybody</em> &#8211; still vote for Pat Buchanan? And to base a party around him?</li>
<li>I notice farther out from &#8220;normal&#8221; on the political spectrum you go, into the far left and right wing nutville, the more political parties there are. </li>
<li>If all those socialist parties really want to make a difference, instead of just having meetings and printing newsletters, why don&#8217;t they combine?  Of course, that&#8217;s my opinion with many non-profit groups</li>
<li>It must be getting really hard to think of names for new political parties</li>
<li>I think it hilarious that the Communist Party USA has an online store</li>
